Membership

Joining the club, paying your fee and renewing each year.

How joining works

Anyone can apply online — you don't need an account first. Joining takes five steps:

  1. Fill in the application form on Join us. It creates your website account and your application at the same time.
  2. Verify your email — click the link we send you.
  3. We review your application — usually within a few days.
  4. Pay your fee by bank transfer, then upload your receipt on the website.
  5. You're a member — once the treasurer confirms your payment, we email you your member number.

We email you at each step, so you don't need to keep checking the website. You'll need your email address, postal address and phone number, and the fee for your grade (see Membership grades).

After you apply, everything about your membership lives in My account (/membership): sign in, then open the menu with your name in the top-right corner and choose My membership. A progress bar there shows which step you're on.

Apply now

Apply for membership

New to the website

Click Join us in the top menu (/join-us). One form creates your website account and your membership application together.

  1. Account details — the email and password you'll use to sign in. The password must be at least 8 characters.
  2. Applicant details — surname, first name, address and telephone are required; occupation is optional.
  3. Home club — tell us whether RBCWA is your home club, or name your other club.
  4. Membership grade — choose one grade from the table below.
  5. Complete the anti-spam check, tick that you agree to the club rules, check the total and press submit.

You'll see Application Submitted and receive a verification email — continue with Verify your email.

Already have an account

Sign in, open My account and press Apply for membership. The form is the same, minus the account details.

  2. Sign in and open My account. A yellow banner Verify your email address appears at the top — press Resend link.
  3. If you're asked to wait, try again after the countdown shown in the message.

The Your details card on the right shows what you submitted. If something is wrong, email treasurer@rbcwa.org.au.

Pay your fee

Once your application is approved, the label changes to Payment required and we email you the payment instructions.

1. Transfer the money

Make a bank transfer to:

Account nameThe Rare Budgerigar Club
BSB066 202
Account number106 373 30

Use your payment reference in the transfer's reference field so we can match your payment. It's shown on the payment page and in the email:

  • New members: APP- followed by 6 characters, e.g. APP-5A77BC.
  • Renewing members: your member number, e.g. RB-00142.

2. Upload your receipt

  1. On My account, press Submit payment (or use the link in the email). Check the amount and payment reference shown.
  2. Attach a screenshot or PDF of your bank receipt — JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, up to 5MB.
  3. Optionally add a note, e.g. if you paid a slightly different amount because of bank fees.
  4. Press the submit button. The label changes to Verifying payment.

When the treasurer confirms your payment, your membership becomes active and we send you a welcome email with your member number.

Your member card

Once you're a member, My account shows your member card:

  • Member no. — your membership number, e.g. RB-00142.
  • Ring code — shown once the Ring Registrar has assigned you one.
  • Grade — the badge in the top-right corner of the card.
  • Valid from / Valid until — your current term. Valid until is the last day your membership is valid.
  • A bar showing how many days remain.

A membership term lasts one year. For a new member, it starts on the day the treasurer confirms your payment.

Renew your membership

When you can renew

Renewal opens 60 days before your membership expires, and stays open after it expires.

The notice under your member card tells you where you are:

  • Expires in N days (blue) — renewal is open.
  • Expires in N days (orange, 30 days or fewer) — renew soon.
  • Membership expired (red) — you're not an active member until you renew.
  • Renewal in progress — you've applied; finish the review and payment.
  • Renewed until … — done; your next term is waiting.

How to renew

  1. On My account, press Renew now under your member card.
  2. The form is filled in from your last application. Check your details are still correct and update anything that changed.
  3. Choose your grade and home club, agree to the rules and submit.
  4. Your renewal then goes through the same steps as a new application: review, then payment.

Changing grade

You can choose a different grade when you renew. The new grade applies from your next term, after our team reviews it. If you leave the Family grade, other family members are no longer covered from that date.

History

My account shows your latest records. Open History to see all of them — applications, renewals, ring orders and payments — grouped by year, with your total paid at the top.

Click a row to see the details: fee, any levy, payment reference and dates. The amount on the right is marked Paid, Due, Under review or Not charged.

Ring orders

Ordering leg rings for the season, paying and receiving them.

Before you order

Ring orders are for financial members only — your membership must be active. If it isn't, the Ring orders page shows Members only; apply or renew first.

Open Ring orders from the menu with your name in the top-right corner, or from the Ring orders card on My account. The page shows this season's details:

  • Colours and price per ring — each colour can have its own price.
  • Minimum order and pack size (per colour).
  • Postage & handling rates.
  • Order by — the last day you can order this season.

You can have one order in progress at a time. If the page says Ring orders are closed, the order-by date has passed (or the next season hasn't opened yet) — contact our Ring Registrar if you still need rings.

Place an order

  1. On the Ring orders page, press Order rings.
  2. Your details — surname, first name, phone number and address are filled in for you. Check they are correct.
  3. How would you like your rings?
    • Post to me — rings are posted to your address; postage is added.
    • Collect in person — only offered in some seasons. No postage is charged; the page tells you where and when to collect. You still pay by bank transfer first.
  4. Ring code — request a code on your first order, or ask to change it (see Your ring code).
  5. Rings — enter a quantity for each colour you want. Quantities go up in packs (use the − / + buttons), and you can mix colours to reach the minimum.
  6. Optionally add a note for our Ring Registrar.
  7. Check the Order summary: rings, a small-order levy (only on small orders, when the season has one), postage and the total. Then submit.

You'll see Order submitted. Our Ring Registrar reviews the order and we email you the payment details once it's approved.

Ordering more rings later in the season

Normally you order once per season. If you already have a paid order and need more, press Place an additional order and tick I need an additional order this season.

Your ring code

Your ring code is stamped on your rings and identifies you as the breeder. It's allocated by our Ring Registrar and you keep it from year to year. Once allocated, it appears under Your ring code on the Ring orders page and on your member card.

  • First order: enter the code you'd like in Requested ring code.
  • Change your code: tick I'd like to change my ring code and enter the new one. Until the Registrar approves it, your code stays the same.

Codes use letters and numbers only, up to 8 characters. Spaces are removed and letters are made uppercase for you (sj 7 becomes SJ7).

The form checks the code as you type. If it's already allocated to or already requested by another member, you can still submit — for example if it's your own code from the club's paper records — but you must tick to confirm. The Registrar makes the final decision.

Track your order

Your current order is shown at the top of the Ring orders page, with a coloured status label:

LabelWhat it means
Pending reviewOur Ring Registrar is checking your order. We’ll email you payment details once it’s approved.
Awaiting paymentYour order is approved. Please pay by bank transfer and upload your receipt.
Payment submittedWe’ve received your receipt and are verifying your payment.
Payment rejectedWe couldn’t verify your payment. Please check the note and upload a new receipt.
PaidPayment confirmed — your rings will be posted to you soon.
PostedYour rings have been posted to the address on your order.
RejectedThis order wasn’t approved. See the note below for details.
CancelledThis order was cancelled.

If you chose Collect in person, Paid means your rings are ready to collect, and the label changes to Collected once you have them.

Messages from our Ring Registrar appear in a Note box on the order. Past orders are listed in History.

Pay for your order

When your order is approved, the label changes to Awaiting payment and we email you. Paying works the same way as your membership fee:

  1. Transfer the total to the club account (BSB 066 202, account 106 373 30).
  2. Use your ring order reference — RING- followed by 6 characters, e.g. RING-9C21FA. It's different from your membership reference.
  3. Press Submit payment on the order and upload your receipt (JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, up to 5MB). You can add an optional note.

If the label shows Payment rejected, read the note and press Resubmit payment.

Edit an order

Press Edit order, make your changes and save. Prices are recalculated when you save, and you'll see Changes saved. If the Registrar reviewed the order while you were editing, your changes aren't saved — you'll see a message explaining this.

Cancel an order

Press Cancel order, optionally tell us why (e.g. ordered the wrong colours) and confirm. You can place a new order afterwards.

Once you've uploaded a receipt, you can't cancel online because your payment is being checked. Email our Ring Registrar and they'll arrange any refund.
